What a wonderful experience! We stayed at this super clean and nicely decorated house for a few days. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the beds were really comfortable. We were impressed with the welcome pack that included a bottle of wine, bread, biscuits, fruits, and chocolate at the bedside. The endless supply of wood, coal, and kindling for the fireplace was a great touch. All the basic amenities were provided, from washing tablets to tea towels. The WiFi was excellent, and the location was perfect for exploring the area.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Wow, what a gem we found for our Xmas getaway! the location was absolutely perfect, with stunning views and close proximity to shops. the house itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a cozy stay. We were pleasantly surprised to find all the essentials provided, including cleaning products and firewood. the best part was the warm welcome we received, with a lit fire and treats waiting for us upon arrival. And the host, oh my, they were the friendliest and most helpful people we could have asked for!
Honestly, I can't think of a single thing to dislike about our experience.

Wonderful experience! Super clean and nicely decorated house with very friendly and helpful hosts. Comfortable beds allowed for a good night's sleep. the welcome pack with wine, bread, biscuits, fruits, and chocolate was a nice touch. the endless supply of wood, coal, and kindling for the fireplace was greatly appreciated. the location was great, with easy access to nearby attractions and a peaceful atmosphere.
Although the cottage was lovely, the fact that there was only one bathroom for six people was a bit inconvenient. some guest information about how to work the oven would have been helpful.

We couldn't have asked for more value for money - the room at Benside Cottage was fantastic! The location was perfect, allowing us to explore the island while also having the convenience of Stornoway nearby. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home.
The breakfast option could have been improved with a wider selection of hot items.

What a great value for money! The room at Benside Cottage was spotlessly clean, well-stocked, and delightfully comfortable. The location was peaceful and the staff, Angus and Moira, were perfect hosts who made us feel right at home.
The hotel breakfast menu could benefit from some additional options.

A cozy and welcoming cottage with lovely extras such as homemade biscuits, fruit, and chocolates by the beds. the hosts were perfect, and their two labradors were a delight. the easy access to town and the island made it a great base for exploration. a wonderful week and we will definitely return.
The lack of guest information was a small inconvenience, particularly with operating the oven. with some trial and error, we eventually figured it out.

Despite the numerous downsides, there were a few positive aspects to this place. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, which was a nice change. The complimentary welcome pack was a thoughtful gesture, and we appreciated the treats that were left for us. Additionally, the location was quiet and peaceful, providing a great opportunity to unwind and relax. though, I cannot recommend this place due to its shortcomings.
What a letdown! The whole experience at this place was a disaster. the lack of a dishwasher was a major inconvenience.

The property has a garden and free private parking. Free WiFi and garden views were a bonus.
I did not appreciate the lack of a helipad for my arrival. How am I supposed to make a grand entrance?

Free parking in the spacious garden, yay! And the free WiFi made it easy to upload my fancy Instagram pictures of the garden view. Oh, and there was a washing machine, so I didn't have to do the laundry by hand like some sort of peasant.
Shame there wasn't a butler to do all the housework for me. How terribly inconvenient.
